Post-Test - v0.147 alpha


Good morning everybordy,

This one is again a post-test devlog. After some successfull testing on last Friday, we  discovered a couple of bugs an issues again. No game breaking stuff, but some inconveniences still.  The issues really were caused by a combination of players connecting and disconnecting in the middle of a round, which should be fine normally, but wasn't in that version, and some errors in the decals code. Which is funny, since the decals are just visual effects, but well, if someone manages to cause multiplayer connection issues with the help of decals, I guess it's us...

Well we fixed said bugs and tested with multiple clients on Sunday, where we ALT-F4 some clients, connected during the worst possible moments a.s.o. And so far, the bugs seem to be fixed, which is why we've pushed this current patch. The changes in detail follow.


Changes:

  • Improved the options menu. Sometimes, the changes settings weren't saved when the user expected it to be saved
  • The sendrate of player positions was reduced, since it was ambitiously high
  • ANOTHER new map has been made and added :D
  • Added a cube ship to the game. Try and spot it, if you can ;)
  • MORE COLORS (okay I tell you, the start has been spiced up with colors)

Fixes:

  • Fixed decals bugs
  • Fixed an issue in our networking code, causing players to lose connection
  • Fixed an error in the audio manager, causing specific sounds to stop working
  • Fixed an error in the code, which allowed to snap obstacles to rotating or moving obstacles
  • Fixed an error with the highlights system
  • Fixed music bug, which caused inconsistencies in the master volume


That list is longer than expected. I rate, that this is a good thing... Well, see you next testing session!
